An Underutilized D2C Checkout Strategy for Immediate Revenue Impact 💰

Do you stop selling when someone makes a purchase?

Don't stop selling when someone makes a purchase.

That's not what top salespeople do.

KEEP selling.

Don't be the person who overdoes it to the point that people stop liking you.

Doing it appropriately is smart though.

Post-transaction upsells and cross-sells are underutilized.

EXAMPLE 👀

Numbed Ink Company does a fantastic job at this. They even tried an upsell AND a cross-sell at the same time.

I ordered numbing cream for an upcoming tattoo. (Yes, I use this and I'm not afraid to admit it.)

After I bought it, they asked me if I wanted to add an additional tube for a discounted price available only at that moment. Nice upsell.

Then, they tried to sell me a healing product. I was like oh yeah, duh. I'm actually glad you brought this to my attention to consider. Nice cross-sell.

I forgot to grab screenshots yesterday when I purchased something, so go buy something for yourself and check it out.

TLDR

Want a strategy with huge potential for immediate, large impact?

Try this.

A/B/n test it if you can.

Use analytics data to inform what product(s) you choose.

Level it up even more by personalizing the upsells and cross-sells.
